Kiping is an edible leaf-shaped rice wafer that can be colorful (usually in the colors of Orange, Yellow, Green, Pink, and Red). It can be eaten in many ways, either cooked, grilled, or directly. It is pretty brittle and is also really thin.
It is also used as decoration (along with other harvested farm products) on houses to honor San Isidro Labrador and as a thanksgiving for the bountiful harvests. This event occurs in Lucban, Quezon, and is celebrated annually on May 15 and is known as the Pahiyas Festival.
Kiping is usually designed as a flower-like shape, or just like this Back Accessory, which is a chandelier shape.
